About Rachel Ward

I'm a fiftysomething artist. I enjoy experimenting with different media and subjects, painting and drawing both outside and in my studio. I use photography as a way of recording my daily walks and the changing of the seasons in the little corner of Bath where I live. These photographs, along with sketches or paintings done outside, inform my work in the studio. I started painting in oils five years ago, but also enjoy watercolours and drawing in pencil, pastel and charcoal.
My work has been exhibited in the Bath Society of Artists Annual Open Exhibition, at the RUH and at Widcombe GP surgery. I take part in the Widcombe Art Trail and Combe Down Art Trail, selling paintings, cards and mugs.
I am also a writer of thrillers for young adults and 'cosy' crime for adults.
